Selling an investment property – Bayswater
My husband and I recently engaged What’s Next as we were about to put our investment property on the market. We had previously worked with Lorraine and Derek through their architecture firm nash+ghersinich. They had designed a beautiful pool and outdoor entertaining area for us at our home so we already knew they had style.
When we first bought the house which we renovated ourselves, we spent a reasonable amount on the renovation (a bit too much!). Lorraine met with me and our agent at the property and it quickly became clear that to get a top sales value it would be best to wait until later this year when our current tenants move out.
The thing that struck me most is when Lorraine came to view my investment property, she understood what is important and where I should focus my time and money. I really wish that I’d known Lorraine when we did the renovation as it became clear to me that some of the changes I’d made with the renovation were unnecessary.
As Lorraine knew we had done the renovations ourselves, she highlighted areas we could do and those that we should consider outsourcing to get it done quickly. She also provided some contacts that we could use to get the work done quickly. I know that Lorraine has high standards and the people that she’d recommended we use for our home renovation were fabulous so this was also a great help.
Lorraine’s practical advice to solve some issues in the eyes of potential purchasers was invaluable. She even helped me work out what type of furniture I should put in each of the rooms to make them feel more spacious! It was great to get Lorraine there with our agent so I could get both of their opinions at once and although they had never met before they worked really well together. Thanks to Lorraine it will now be a very painless process to get the property ready for market.

We loved the location of our house and could not think of anywhere we would rather live but after 12 years the house that had served our family so well no longer suited our needs. We had no idea of how or where to start. Should we knock down our house and start over or should we renovate? The end result has been better than we could have imagined. The cleverly designed cabinetry has solved all our storage needs. Their attention to detail has made our home a delight to live in.
